Description
The City Engineering, Communities, and Design elective participates in the Northern California Future City Competition. Students will be introduced to the Engineering Design Process, equipping them with the skills necessary to research, design, and construct a model of a futuristic city. Initially, students will explore various technologies, organizations, and personnel essential for the operation of a functional city. They will also have the opportunity to test their city designs using the interactive platform of SimCity. As part of the competition requirements, students must compose a research paper that envisions a future city while addressing a critical issue vital to its sustainability. Upon completing their research, students will construct a physical model of their futuristic city. Please note that additional after-school hours will be necessary in December to prepare adequately for the competition in January.
